Where do I pick up the van?
The van is located in Wickford or Basildon, Essex. Pickup and return is at the car location — no rental counter needed. Full instructions are provided via the Turo app.
Is the van insured?
Yes. All bookings include insurance via ERS (Syndicate 218 at Lloyd's), managed by IQUW Syndicate Management Limited. You are covered throughout your rental period.
What driving licence do I need?
You need a full UK driving licence. Please check your licence entitlements and ensure you meet Turo's driver requirements before booking.
What if I am running late returning the van?
There is a 30-minute return grace period built in — no need to extend your trip unless you are running more than 30 minutes late.
Are there any rules about smoking or cleanliness?
No smoking is allowed in the van — smoking will result in a £150 fine. Please also keep the vehicle tidy; unreasonably dirty vehicles may result in a £150 cleaning fee. No car wash is necessary, just return it reasonably clean.
Do I need to refuel the van before returning it?
Yes — please return the van with the same fuel level as when you collected it. Missing fuel may result in an additional fee.
How many miles are included, and what happens if I go over?
1,050 miles are included with every booking. If you drive further, an additional fee of £0.22 per mile applies for any miles over the allowance.
Can I take the van off-road?
No. Off-roading is not permitted. The van is designed for road use only.
